JOB ROLE

Bayer United is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer to join our Tampa, FL officeA strong candidate for this role will take the Lead on the Temporary Traffic Control/Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) efforts. 

 

JOB DUTIES

Job duties will include temporary traffic control design analysis, MOT plans production, and signing and sealing final MOT plans. A general understanding of all other design components (including roadway, drainage, structures, signing and pavement marking, signalization, lighting and utility work) is required.  Duties also include attending technical meetings and developing cost estimates and preparing lane closure analyses. 

 

In this role you will take the lead on marketing pursuits, including technical writing for the MOT sections of letters of interest, attending FDOT interviews and/or presentations, joining teams as a subconsultant for the MOT component, and reaching out to contractors and developers for new work.

 

The scope of projects ranges from major reconstruction projects to milling and resurfacing projects with temporary pedestrian detours.

 

This position requires working with a cohesive team of professionals internally with other disciplines such as roadway and drainage, and externally with other subconsultants.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with B.S. in Civil Engineering and ten to twenty (10-20) years of experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Experience in Open Roads Designer (ORD) with 3D modeling experience is a plus. 

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Experience with FDOT roadway design projects.  

 

Ability to process paper/electronic documents and utilize computer equipment; ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; ability to visit project sites if necessary. Job also requires ability to plan, prioritize and review project plans and documents, evaluate alternatives, and devise appropriate solutions.
