A Florida native and University of Florida graduate, Izzy McAlister is an engineer driven by a passion for building infrastructure that strengthens communities and improves daily life. She brings a strong technical foundation in stormwater management, utilities, and land development, along with experience managing complex projects from design through permitting and construction.
Before joining Bayer United Engineering Consultants, Izzy served as a Project Manager and Engineer on a wide range of public and private projects across North Florida. Her work has included campus infrastructure improvements for the University of Florida, watershed and stormwater management planning, and award-winning community park developments in Gainesville. She has also contributed to roadway, utility, and site design projects, gaining hands-on experience with permitting, construction coordination, and stakeholder engagement. This diverse background gives her a broad perspective that now enhances her roadway engineering work.
At Bayer United, Izzy is expanding her expertise in roadway design, where she combines her problem-solving skills, regulatory knowledge, and collaborative approach to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation solutions. She is currently pursuing her Professional Engineer licensure and is committed to advancing both the technical and human sides of engineering.
When she’s not engineering, Izzy can often be found fishing, exploring Florida’s wild places, tending her garden, or enjoying creative hobbies like painting, sewing, and cooking.
